This is a placeholder post so the layout has something to show. It lives in posts/hello-world.md; delete it or overwrite it with the first real essay.

How posts work

Every essay is one Markdown file in posts/. A file starts with a frontmatter block:

The URL is taken from the file name: posts/why-give.md becomes /posts/why-give/. Add draft: true to keep an essay out of the feed and the sitemap while it is being written — it is still rendered and shown on the front page with a Draft badge, so it can be previewed.

Posts can be written in any language; the interface stays in English. Standard Markdown works, including footnotes1, bold, italics, block quotes, lists and tables.

The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.
